Portathon aims to celebrate the rich heritage and engineering prowess of the Kolkata Port area by giving runners a never-before explored trail to run on together. From the curvy stretch on the modern engineering marvel – Garden Reach Flyover; over the ancient Bascule Bridge- Nazrul Setu, under the iconic Vidyasagar Setu and along the picturesque Princep Ghat, runners will get to immerse themselves into the elements like never before. Portathon not only hosts runners from all over India but also scores of young women and children from marginalized sections of our society who draw inspiration from such events with the aim of bringing together participants from various sections of our society including Visually impaired, Paralympians, Children from red light areas, various dedicated runners’ groups apart from common participants. We also see participation from army personnel’s, schools, colleges, universities, women associations & sports institutes.
